Welcome friends! Welcome fitness fanatics, weight loss warriors, health heroes, and anyone else with some interest in your sense of well-being. The intent of this blog is to provide some quality advice and insight, whether it be to expand your already adequate knowledge or to be the first to enlighten you to the wonders of the health world.

For a first post, I figured I should explain who I am and why you should listen to me in the first place. My name is Kory, and I consider myself a bit of a vitamin and supplement expert. I have been working for a very reputable vitamin company for almost four years (and due to that company’s very strict social media policy, I cannot tell you which one) as a store manager. I have been forced through rigorous training exercises which are government-sanctioned in order to make sure that we don’t slip up and say something (technically) illegal to a customer. Our training is designed to follow the guidelines of DSHEA (Dietary Supplement Health Education Act), and while I’m in the store there are a lot of things I cannot say about supplements for fear of losing my job. However, this blog is different. I can be straighter and more to the point here because it is up to you, the reader, to decide how to interpret my advice.

Aside from this experience, I grew up in a household where we ate totally natural and organic foods (even when we could barely afford them), and my parents were always fanatical about taking supplements. I took vitamins from a very young age, and my rock-solid immune system and cast-iron digestive tract owe many thanks to that. I am rarely sick, and when I do come down with whatever is going around (thank you retail!) I generally get rid of it quickly. My wife will say that I am a huge baby when I do get sick, and yes, it’s true. But only because I am never sick. And it sucks to be sick.

Okay, so aside from vitamin/supplement experience, to be honest I am not a huge fitness buff. I don’t like going to the gym and I really don’t enjoy working out. I try to stay active by doing the things that I enjoy (i.e. softball, playing drums, mountain biking, etc.). However, being employed in this industry I have come to know a lot about fitness. One thing that I am experienced in is weight loss. More than once in my life I have managed to lose a good chunk of weight in a short amount of time, and between my personal and career experience combined I am well-versed in the “art” of losing weight.

Essentially, what I want all of my readers to take away from my blog is a wide array of unbiased and useful advice for keeping fit, losing weight, and just being healthy. I am going to try to post something every week, whether it be a tip or a new study or a supplement to try. I am open to any and all (appropriate) questions; please pick my brain because I love to talk about this stuff. If there is something you would like to see, please message me. And if you like what you see, tell your friends: share with your Facebook friends, your Tumblr followers, anyone.

So again, welcome readers, and I hope you not only enjoy, but get something useful out of my posts. Stay healthy, my friends.
